DESCRIPTION:Yarry here in charge of museum and factory tour visits. Our Amazon Fulfillment Center tour this week was a great success and here is the follow up adventure: \n  \nOn Wednesday April 29th I have booked a tour\, tentatively for 20 people\, at 11:00am at the Eagle and High Peak Gold Mine in Julian: 2320 C Street\, San Diego\, CA 92036. This is approximately a one hour tour that will involve a half mile of walking underground in what was the third biggest gold mine in the region from when Julian was started. It dates back to 1870. You get to see all aspects of the mining operation\, and even get a chance to pan for gold if you are interested. It is about a one hour drive to get there from Scripps Ranch and I will once again encourage car pooling when we get closer to the date. I can fit three people in my car as a starting point and will drive. Wives and spouses are welcome to join once again. Just please let me know who is interested. Cost of the tour is $19/ person. DESCRIPTION:Hello SIR Pickleball Group members\, \nOur group has grown considerably at last week’s SIR lunch meeting. We are now 15 members (including me). \nAccording to SIR rules\, I understand that we need to hold regularly scheduled meetings in order to be “approved” and having them posted online. Having looked at the schedule of other activities in the SIR calendar and taken into consideration the days on which some of you are unavailable\, Tuesday mornings seem to be the best option. More specifically\, I was thinking of the first Tuesday of every month at 10 am. So\, I went ahead and reserved 3 courts for Tuesday\, May 5\, 10:00 am to 11:00 am\, at the Rancho Arbolitos located at 14343 Silverset Street in Poway. The cost is $15 per hour per court. So\, if we play 4 per court for one hour\, it would be a little less than $4 per person. \nPlease let me know whether you plan to make it on May 5th. DESCRIPTION:Hi everyone\, \nI am sending this to the whole membership because my list of interested people is way out of date. If your not interested please just ignore this email. \nSorry that it took a while to setup another hike but things went a little sideways in my life. Well that’s done so\, how about an interesting easy hike with the possibility of some slot canyon work if you are interested. \nSan Elijo Lagoon has a nice easy walk on the Solana Beach side\, I like to use the trailhead at the end of N. Rios Ave because it has the most parking. So I am thinking May 6th at 10:45am\, so as to not have to deal with too much traffic down the 56. This is a “go as far as you want hike”\, so don’t worry if you need to turn around early the full hike around the lagoon is rather long at about 6 miles. For the N. Rios trailhead the slot canyon is only about 0.3 miles from the trailhead and adds another ~0.1 miles of winding up the hillside through a slot that is wide enough for 1 person with some areas big enough to pass.  Also there is a metal ladder at the top of the slot canyon\, it’s not that long but it is a bit steep. \nAs for the views if you like bird watching or nice scenery bring your binoculars and / or cameras \nFor more information: \nAnnie’s Canyon Trail Guide And \nhttps://www.sdparks.org/content/sdparks/en/news-events/news-archives/AnniesCanyon.html \nI appreciate it if people tell me if they will be going\, but just showing up works too.
